Password Reset over VPN for Windows Machines

  1. Log into the machine: Use the password you used before the recent change to log into the Windows machine remotely.

  2. Connect to the VPN: Use your VPN password to connect to the VPN.

  3. Lock the computer: To initiate the password sync process, lock the computer by either:

    • Pressing Windows-Key+L
    • Using CTRL-ALT-DEL and selecting Lock
    • Selecting the Start Menu, clicking on the Person icon, and then selecting Lock
  4. Unlock the computer: Once the computer is locked, click anywhere on the screen to prompt the login screen. Log into your machine with the newly changed password.

  5. Optional Restart: To ensure seamless connection to shared/network drives when connecting remotely, consider restarting your machine.

By following these steps, users should be able to reset their passwords securely while logged in remotely via VPN on Windows machines.
